Global citizen

Maria Montessori emphasized the importance of raising children as global citizens who understand humanity and take responsibility for the world. Through education that promotes peace, cultural understanding and respect for diversity, students can develop empathy and a sense of responsibility for the world. Education helps students to see their place in the universe and to understand how all life is interconnected, inspiring them to contribute to a sustainable and peaceful future.

Our school offers a learning environment based on the opportunity for everyone to develop at their own pace, according to their interests. We value cooperation, respect and a sense of belonging to a global community, providing the tools to become reflective and engaged global citizens. Education should prepare students to become aware and active citizens who contribute to creating a better world for all.

Mixed-age classes

We believe that students develop at their own pace and learn best in a nurturing and social environment. Mixed-age classes, where students from different age groups learn and grow together, are a central part of education and foster both academic and social development. Older pupils act as mentors to younger ones, strengthening their knowledge and leadership, while the younger ones receive inspiration and guidance. This interaction creates a sense of community and responsibility.

Age mixing also allows students to learn at their own pace, regardless of age. One pupil can delve into advanced subjects, while another is given more time to consolidate the basics, reducing comparisons and stress. The environment also reflects the mixed age groups in the community and helps develop communication skills and respect for the different abilities and development of others.

“Education from the start of life can truly transform society’s present and future.”

Personalized learning

Teaching is individualized, with a focus on fostering independence, responsibility and intrinsic motivation for learning. Teachers strive to create a balance between freedom and structure, allowing pupils to use concrete materials to explore and understand different subjects.

The primary school has around 150 pupils in grades F-6, divided into mixed-age classes with a maximum of 20 pupils in each class. All teachers are licensed. Lingua Montessori School follows Swedish school law and curriculum and is free of charge. Guardians only pay for the desired after-school place.

Lingua Montessori School has well-trained teachers who more than cover all the subjects required by the curriculum.
